Any leftover cooked chicken from the Instant Pot can be safely kept in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days when stored in an airtight container. The leftovers can be used for sandwiches, pasta dishes and salads. The bones of the chicken can also be saved for the same amount of time in an airtight container to be added to stocks with aromatics like onions, garlic and other vegetables.
How Long Can Cooked Chicken Last in the Freezer?
As long as cooked chicken hasn’t sat out at room temperature for two hours or more, it can be safely stored in the freezer for up to 3 to 4 months. The leftovers need to be stored in a freezer-safe container or zip-top bag and it’s always a good idea to label the container with the date before placing in the freezer.
